A passenger plane and a Japanese coast guard aircraft collided on the runway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Tuesday, killing five coast guard crewmembers. Graham Braithwaite, Director of Transport Systems and Professor of Safety and Accident Investigation at Cranfield University, says a ground collision like this is an 'incredibly unusual event' that tends to have 'tragic consequences.'
