On Wednesday, Japanese authorities released transcripts of conversations with the control tower regarding the collision of a passenger jet and a Coast Guard plane at Tokyo's Haneda airport.

According to the transcripts, the Japan Airlines Airbus was given permission to land while the Coast Guard plane was directed to a holding point short of the runway.

“I think the cause of this accident was not a mechanical issue from the aircraft; it was a human error,” said Hiroyuki Kobayashi, former Japan Airlines pilot and aviation analyst.

Aruto Iwama, who was on the burning plane, expressed his fear during the incident and said that “Honestly, I was scared to death. But when I was able to get out of the plane, I felt relieved.”
