Italy: Mudslide sends people running for their lives

People had a lucky escape when a mudslide slammed into a street in an Italian town.

It happened when heavy rain caused a mountain stream to burst its banks in Bardonecchia, near Turin.

Bardonecchia, situated at 1,300m, is a popular base for winter mountain sports and summer hiking and a number of streams, rivers and tributaries feed into the town.
