Israel's ambassador to the United Nations is demanding that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres resign, after criticism by the world leader of the war in Gaza. Ambassador Gilad Erdan was responding to comments by Guterres at the UN Security Council, in which he said the October 7 attacks by Hamas in Israel "did not happen in a vacuum" and that Palestinians had been "subjected to 56 years of suffocating occupation."
