The number of people confirmed as being held hostage by Hamas in Gaza is now 222, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said.

Sky's Middle East correspondent Alistair Bunkall says reports suggest Western countries are putting pressure on Israel not to launch a ground invasion just yet because they hope diplomatic channels can be used to free more hostages.
