The Israeli army says there has been no rocket attack from Gaza or southern Lebanon since 10pm last night (19:00 GMT).
Al Jazeera’s Charles Stratford, reporting from Ashdod in the country’s south, said today’s concern for Israel is the possibility of further infiltrations of Hamas fighters.
On Wednesday, there were a number of incidents in different places along the Gaza fence, with the Israeli military saying at least three Palestinian fighters were killed near Zikim as they tried to cross.
“We saw a lot of Israeli soldiers looking for Hamas fighters still potentially at large … There is a distinct possibility that [infiltrations] might still happening – that is the focus now,” Stratford said.
