Islamophobia in Canada: 3 generations of Muslim women reflect on hate

Racially-motivated crimes have surged across Canada in recent years, with reports of such incidents surging by 30 per cent in 2020 alone.

Muslim Canadians have reportedly also been the most targeted group of hatred. In Edmonton, at least nine incidents in the last nine months have been reported, involving disturbing physical and verbal assaults directed mainly at Black, Muslim women wearing a hijab or burqa.

Morgan Black spoke to three generations of Muslim women, who say this country's problem with Islamophobia has lingered for decades, and is only getting worse.
