Tensions are growing between Beijing and Washington over the fate of TikTok in the US. China warned Thursday against US-efforts to ban the popular app or force parent-company ByteDance to divest its US operations.
That came just before Shou Zi Chu - CEO of ByteDance - testified to Congress that the app had no significant ties to Beijing. Calls for Washington to act on TikTok gathered steam after that testimony. The issue is the latest source of tension between the two nations
