Is Israel's attack on Gaza's al-Shifa hospital a war crime? | Inside Story

For years, Israel has accused Hamas of using the al-Shifa hospital in Gaza as a cover for its military operations.
And now, Israeli forces have surrounded and attacked it for days - before launching a raid inside its grounds.
They claim to have found what they call 'grab bags' containing weapons and uniforms belonging to Hamas fighters.
But what they call evidence doesn't appear convincing.
And many fear that with the Israeli military in sole control of the operation, it could fabricate facts to make the world believe its allegations.
And isn't attacking hospitals - especially those treating critically ill patients and babies - a war crime as defined under international law?
