Al-Shifa Hospital ‘under direct attack’: Physicians for Human Rights Israel

Guy Shalev, a doctor with Physicians for Human Rights Israel, says Israeli attacks on medical facilities in Gaza started with the refusal to let water, food, and fuel into the enclave.

“When we’re talking about direct attacks on medical facilities in Gaza, it hasn’t started yesterday or today. The decision not to let any clean water, food, fuel for the hospital generators in – is already been an attack on the Gaza health system,” Shalev told Al Jazeera.

In the last two days, al- Shifa Hospital has become “under direct attack,” he said.

“The facts on the ground are clear. Patients and medical staff are being targeted, they are being put at risk,” he added.
