Iran's Supreme Court has upheld a death sentence against a 68-year-old Iranian-German dual national for the crime of what it calls "corruption on Earth". Journalist and activist Jamshid Sharmahd was sentenced to death in February, accused of playing a role in a 2008 mosque bombing. His family says he is innocent – and German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has called on Iran to reverse the judgment.

We ask DW political correspondent Matthew Moore: what has Germany done so far?

And we’re joined by Pia Walter from the human rights group called HÀWAR - Help. She's one of the organisers of a protest in Berlin in support of Jamshid Sharmahd.
