As Canadians mark International Women's Day on Friday, there are still various issues that still face women daily, including in the labour force.

While some progress has been made, recent surveys including from Desjardins show women still earn 17 per cent less than men, with the company noting starker differences for immigrant and Indigenous women.

But as Sean Previl explains, tackling the earnings and wealth gap is just one aspect that could not only benefit people at work but also the Canadian economy as a whole.
