Members of the largely-Hindu Meitei group have held protests in the Indian capital New Delhi.

They are opposed to demands that a separate administration be established for the Kuki, a mostly Christian tribal minority, in Manipur state.

The northeastern region of the country has witnessed more than three months of ethnic violence, which has killed more than 180 people and displaced tens of thousands.
