India's strategic strike submarine INS Arihant carried out a successful launch of a ballistic missile on Friday, the Defence Ministry said. The missile was tested to a predetermined range and it hit the target area in the Bay of Bengal with high accuracy, validating all operational and technological parameters, it said. Himachal Pradesh will vote for a new government on November 12 and votes will be counted on December 8, the Election Commission said on Friday, in an announcement that surprisingly did not include dates for Gujarat which was also expected to hold polls by the end of the year. Wholesale price-based inflation (WPI) eased in September to 10.70 per cent from a year ago, compared to 12.41 per cent in August, government data showed on Friday.
