Seventy-five years on from partition, people in India and Pakistan have reflected on the divisions and rivalries between the two nations.
When India gained independence from Britain in 1947, the territory was divided into India and the new state of Pakistan (with East Pakistan later becoming Bangladesh).
This created an upsurge of violence, in which approximately 15 million people were displaced and an estimated one million died.
