Hurricane Ida - a powerful Category 4 storm - is due to hit the coast of the US state of Louisiana.
Authorities have warned of "extremely dangerous" storm surge and "catastrophic" winds. And it is expected to make landfall in southeast Louisiana in the next few hours.
The storm gathered strength as it approached land, to be one of the most ferocious hurricanes to hit Louisiana since 1850.
Sunday also marks 16 years since Hurricane Katrina, which led to the deaths of more than 1,800 people.
