The town of Manville in the US state of New Jersey flooded as a result of the remnants of Hurricane Ida, and it took 24 hours for the waters to recede.
The storm caused significant damage to homes, businesses and vehicles as Ida’s rainfall overwhelmed drainage systems, setting records in some places including New York City.
While Manville is almost always hard-hit by major storms, the tenants told Al Jazeera this is the worst they have seen.
Al Jazeera’s Gabriel Elizondo reports from Manville in the US state of New Jersey.
