The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been forced to announce that he is stepping down, after days of political turmoil.
Mr Johnson made the statement in Downing Street after more than 50 ministers resigned from his government. The final crisis for Mr Johnson began with the resignation of his Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid.
It followed a series of scandals and accusations that Mr Johnson lacked honesty and integrity and had repeatedly lied to his party and the country.
Mr Johnson said he would remain in post until a new leader is chosen by his Conservative Party. However some senior Conservatives have called on him to leave office immediately.
