HS2: Northern levelling up 'never going to happen' now Manchester leg scrapped

'We need a full HS2 that services the north', says Aslef union general secretary Mick Whelan - adding that levelling up in northwest and northeast is "never going to happen now" that the Manchester leg has been scrapped.

He spoke from the picket line at Euston, as thousands of rail workers and train drivers continue to strike.
