Myanmar's civil war is pitting a father against his sons.

Bo Kyar Yine is fighting in the armed resistance after the country’s military coup, against his own sons who serve in the army.

Last year’s military coup in February ousted Myanmar's democratically elected government. Now the father, who leads a civilian militia unit, is fighting against a military junta his two sons defend.

Speaking to one of his sons, who is serving in the Myanmar military, Bo Kyar Yine warns him: “I'm sure I will kill you - if I get to fire first.”

Four of his sons fight alongside their father, whilst two other sons in the military are stationed just 50km (30 miles) away from their rebel base.
