How Canada could support residential school survivors following horrific unmarked grave discovery

In the wake of the unmarked graves discovered at an old residential school in British Columbia, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is promising more "concrete action" to support residential school survivors and Canada's Indigenous peoples.

But Trudeau had already campaigned on much earlier promises to implement all 94 recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission when running for prime minister in 2015. Yet, the status of all the recommendations involving Ottawa remain unfinished.

As David Akin reports, there is now more pressure than ever on the federal government to fulfill them.
