How assisted death is raising new questions about organ donation

New recommendations laid out in June are raising tough new questions about medical assistance in dying (MAiD), as those seeking the procedure could soon have the ability to choose who could receive an organ once they pass.

The guidelines seek to help organizations and transplant programs develop new policies for "directed donation" for MAiD patients, but even if they come into effect there are still questions raised on if the person chosen could trump someone in greater need on the waitlist, or vice versa.
