House Republicans on Wednesday voted to censure Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., over comments he made about an investigation into Donald Trump’s ties to Russia several years ago.

In a floor speech before the vote, Schiff said he’ll wear the formal disapproval as a “badge of honor.” Schiff, who is currently running for Senate, led the first impeachment trial against the former president and has been a target of Republicans since they took the majority and blocked him from continuing to serve on the House Intelligence Committee, which he previously was the chairman of.

Traditionally, a censure resolution is read out loud, but House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., only read a part before leaving the chamber after Democrats heckled and interrupted him.
