Wildfires on the Hawaiian island of Maui have killed at least 53 people.
US President Joe Biden has approved a disaster declaration for the state.
Hundreds of buildings have been destroyed.
The fires were fueled by dry vegetation and fanned by the outer winds of Hurricane Dora.
Many fear the death toll would rise.
