The spokesperson for Hamas, Osama Hamdan, thanked Qatar and Egypt for their assistance in mediating the truce deal which will come into effect at 7am (05.00 GMT) tomorrow.
As the Qatari FM announced earlier that the deal had been finalised, Hamdan said they were supposed to achieve the deal “more than 10 days” ago but it was undermined by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
However, Hamdan told Al Jazeera that he “hopes” the four-day pause will go forward without any complications.
But, he said, while the temporary pause is “good”, “The only thing that will make the Palestinian nation satisfied is the end of the occupation and the end of the Israeli attack on Gaza.
“So when we are talking about a temporary ceasefire, that means, what we have received as the arrangements is good, we accept that, but it is not the end of the road,” he added.
