Firefighters managed to contain blazes southeast of the Greek capital on Tuesday which left huge swathes of land charred and homes burned down.
The fire that broke out on Monday was fanned by shifting winds and quickly spread to the coastal towns of Kouvaras, Pournari and Saronida, forcing people and their animals to flee their homes.
