In Dadia National Park, Greece, a wildfire has been burning for the past two weeks. This is the deadliest blaze in Europe, which has so far claimed the lives of at least 20 people and destroyed homes, businesses, and forests.

On Friday, Greek firefighters were able to successfully rescue 25 migrants who were trapped in the national park. The migrants, consisting of 23 Syrians, one Iraqi, and one Lebanese, were transported by the emergency service to a safer location.

According to the Copernicus Emergency Management Service, the Evros fire has destroyed an area of at least 812.6 square kilometers, larger than New York's. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) reported that the Dadia-Lefkimi-Soufli Forest in Greece, a protected area, has suffered a burn of at least 30%.
