The independent review that led to the downfall of former governor general Julie Payette is now public.

Payette, a former astronaut, resigned last week and the report makes clear why.

Employees describe the workplace at Rideau Hall as “hostile,” “Toxic” and “poisoned.” Much of the report is redacted but there is enough information from multiple former and current employees to paint a damning portrait.
