Gosling guardian: Saskatchewan man saves baby goose while on the way to work

Liam McKay was travelling from Warman, Sask to a job site on May 31st when he spotted two goslings on the highway, one of which had already perished. McKay collected both from the busy roadway because he "wouldn't leave his brother in the trenches." Using the social media app, Snapchat, McKay consulted his contacts to find out what to do with the orphaned goose.

McKay said he received many responses from his contacts who suggested he leave the baby goose at a pond. Others said he should find a wildlife sanctuary. McKay eventually flagged down an RCMP officer who agreed to take the gosling to the wildlife services.

Eventually, McKay arrived at his job site and explained his mission to help bring the goose to safety. "I hope others will see the video and hopefully do the right thing," McKay said reflecting on the adventure.
