Even as the Israel Defense Forces’ (IDF) offensive pushes forward, the Israeli military is urging civilians in northern Gaza to move south. United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Saturday he was “horrified” by a strike on an ambulance in Gaza, with video of the Friday scene showing more than a dozen bodies. Mike Armstrong has the details.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken was in Jordan’s capital to call for a humanitarian pause while meeting with counterparts from Arab nations, who called for the protection of Palestinian civilians. There are fears within the international community that war crimes are being committed in Gaza, and Blinken's comments suggest he's calling on Israel to act within the boundaries of international law — but Blinken and his Arab counterparts are still disagreeing on the need for an immediate ceasefire. David Akin reports.

With much of Gaza's already limited usual fresh water supply sources in precarious conditions, Katherine Ward explains what happens when a safe supply of water is not readily available.

Back in Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's decision to pause carbon pricing on home heating oil has thrust the controversial policy back into the spotlight. He ruled out any further exemptions — despite criticisms from the opposition — which has introduced a motion calling for the freeze to be extended to other forms of home heating. Mercedes Stephenson has more.

In the wake of the death of former Pittsburgh Penguins player Adam Johnson, the hockey world is buzzing with debate over whether neck guards should be made mandatory. In Nova Scotia, players are divided with some choosing to wear neck guards while others look to NHL players to lead the way. Heather Yourex-West has the details.

And finally, many people’s first introduction to puppetry came through children's programming with cherished shows such as ‘Sesame Street’ and ‘The Muppets.’ Now this timeless art form is having a moment. From Broadway hits to popular shows and movies, puppets are taking the centre stage. Mark Carcasole takes us into the modern world of puppetry.
