Efforts are underway by the U.S. government on ascertaining the well-being of Travis King, the U.S. soldier who split from a tour group and made a dash across the heavily fortified border of North Korea.
His mother, Claudine Gates, spoke outside her home in Racine, Wisc. and asked people to pray for her son's safe return.
"I just want my son back. I just want my son back. Get my son home. Get my son home and pray, pray that he comes back," she said.
His family, including his grandfather and uncle, also spoke out, trying to understand the motive behind his actions.
