German lawmakers observed a minute's silence for the victims of Hamas' terror attacks. The Palestinian Islamist militants killed at least 1,200 people in Israel over the weekend. Since then, Israeli airstrikes have displaced more than a quarter of a million in Gaza, and killed at least 900.

DW's Hans Brandt interviewed Israel's ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, to discuss the comparisons drawn with 9/11, why Hamas must be stopped, and when peace might become an option.
