Michael Link, Germany’s Transatlantic Relations Coordinator warns of a potentially “huge problem, if American support for Ukraine would disappear.” He calls for Europe to stand on its “own feet” in providing security for the continent. Link also says Germany and Europe “cannot avoid an answer” to Washington on where they stand on China.

Michael Link is an MP for the pro-business Free Democrat Party (FDP) and current Transatlantic Relations Coordinator for the Government of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. In the past Link criticized Donald Trump for “refusing to commit to a peaceful transfer of power” in 2020, in a report by the OSCE/ODOHR international election observer group, which he headed at the time.
