GCSE pass rates in England fall back to pre-pandemic levels

England has seen GCSE grades down almost to 2019 levels, with the share receiving 7 or above now at 22%, compared to 21% in 2019.

In Wales and Northern Ireland, the proportion of students reaching the highest grades has fallen compared to last year but remains above the level seen in 2019.
