Senior members of the military have appeared on television, saying they are now in control of the oil-rich, central African country.

Military leaders also announced the cancellation of Saturday's election result.
The electoral commission says President Ali Bongo won a third term in office.
He's said to have got nearly 65 percent of the vote.

For more on this let's bring in Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi, who's following developments from Nairobi in Kenya.
And Tara O'Connor is the Founder and Executive Director of Africa Risk Consulting.
She joins us from the city of Bordeaux in France for her analysis.
