Heads of government and foreign ministers from the world’s leading 20 major economies, the G20, agreed to look at ways to inject more cash into Afghanistan to tackle the humanitarian crisis there, even if it means having to coordinate efforts with the Taliban, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said on Tuesday after hosting an emergency summit.
The Taliban is on a diplomatic push for international support and recognition.
But in addition to the humanitarian and economic crises, the Taliban is also facing a growing security issue, as well, with ISIL (ISIS) affiliated fighters carrying out attacks even in Kabul.
