He's still pushing ahead with some controversial measures - not least, a draft law to establish what's described as French Islam. It's aimed at tackling radical Islamists, after several brutal killings this year.

Mr Macron says he wants Muslim leaders to acknowledge the values of the French republic, but Amnesty International says France is risking freedoms by shutting down an anti Islamophobia organisation.
