A Fredericton woman is urging other women to be vigilant after finding an Apple AirTag in her purse following a night out with friends.

The woman, who Global News agreed to keep anonymous to protect her privacy, said she had seen a man reach inside her bag. She said she confronted him but he denied stealing anything.

Instead, when she returned home, she found the AirTag in her purse.
“Honestly, I was almost – I don’t know if gaslighting is the right word – but kind of gaslighting myself. ‘Like, do I own an AirTag?” she said.
