Songwriting duo Louis York look to two mementos when they think about what encapsulated 2020.
Claude Kelly said a pack of broccoli seeds -- one of many foods he’s started growing throughout the pandemic -- represents new beginnings.

“Even during tough times, it represents us taking our destiny and our life into our own hands and growing our own food to sustain ourselves so we can be stronger to help other people out,” he told the PBS NewsHour.

Chuck Harmony keeps in mind a sign that enshrined the duo’s Feb. 7 debut on the Grand Ole Opry stage, right before the pandemic forced so many into lockdown. Harmony said the performance was a dream come true.
