People using food banks across Canada hit a record high in 2023, according to Food Banks Canada's Hunger Count report. Almost two million people used the service in their community in March of this year.
According to the study, food costs, housing prices and low wages were among some of the biggest reasons Canadians sought assistance, and one-third of those were children.
