First U.S. coral insurance marks the rise of reef brigades

Hawaii's coral reefs just got their first insurance policy against coastal storms. The Nature Conservancy, a non-profit organization, bought it on behalf of the state, giving its reefs up to $2 million of protection until the end of 2023.
