Researchers Michelle Taylor and Stuart Banks, two scientists based near Ecuador's Galápagos Islands, unexpectedly came across a pristine, previously unknown coral reef believed to be several thousand years old.
The pair were mapping out part of the Pacific Ocean floor when they came across the fascinating find.
