Foreign governments continue to evacuate diplomats, their families and others from Sudan as a battle between rival generals stretches into its ninth day.

While countries — including the U.S. — airlifted their embassy staffs from the capital city of Khartoum, many Sudan citizens are risking the dangerous journey to cross north into Egypt to flee the ongoing conflict.
