The families of Israelis held hostage in Gaza for the past 68 days formed a human chain outside Israel’s Parliament in Jerusalem on Wednesday to demand the government secure their release.

The families say “time is running out” for those who were kidnapped by Hamas on Oct. 7 and are being held in Gaza.

Under a week-long truce between Israel and Hamas last month, 105 civilians were released from captivity. Four hostages were released before the deal was struck and one hostage was rescued from Gaza by Israeli forces.

On Tuesday, Israel declared 19 of the 135 people still being held in Gaza dead in absentia, after announcing its forces had recovered the bodies of two hostages.
