Pulitzer Prize-winning author Cormac McCarthy has died at the age of 89. The novelist was best known for his vengeful and violent tales of the American frontier and post-apocalyptic world.

Some of the writer’s most famous works include “All the Pretty Horses,” “No Country for Old Men” and “The Road,” all of which were made into movies. Mike Drolet looks back on McCarthy's life and the legacy he left on a generation of writers.
