Polish riot police have fired water cannons and tear gas at people trying to break through into EU territory, after dozens of people were seen throwing rocks and rushing at a fence near the Kuznica border crossing.

Poland's Defence Ministry said it had "repelled an attack", a day after the EU agreed to impose more sanctions on the Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, who's accused of deliberately stoking the migrant crisis.
