An area of  Chehalis, B.C., north of Harrison Mills, was once part of the habitat for the critically endangered spotted owl.

Now, it has been logged.

The spotted owl is considered the most endangered bird in Canada. There is just one spotted owl left in the wild, two additional owls released this year, and then some in a breeding centre.

Environmental groups are warning about logging in old-growth areas deemed 'critical' for the survival and renewal of the owl.

Global's Cassidy Mosconi reports.
