In Tunisia, hundreds of African migrants and asylum seekers have been forced out and sent out as far as the Libyan border.
The city of Sfax is a major departure point for many trying to reach Europe in search of a better life.
However, hundreds of them are now stranded in the desert with no food or water.
Al Jazeera's Andrew Simmons reports.
Al Jazeera also speaks to Lauren Seibert from the Human Rights Watch.
