It's Disney versus DeSantis.

The Walt Disney Co. announced on Thursday that it was scrapping $1-billion plans to build a new campus in central Florida and relocate 2,000 employees from Southern California to work in digital technology, finance and product development.

This comes just days before Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to launch his presidential campaign and is the latest outburst in a long-running feud between the corporation and the Republican governor, linked to DeSantis's anti-LGBTQ2+ policies.

As Global's Jackson Proskow explains, Disney's decision could do real damage to the governor's brand at a crucial time.
