Low-lying areas of the largest hill-town in the Kumaon region, Nainital, remains submerged after the Naini lake broke its banks flooding the Mall Road. Road access from Nainital to the plains was partially restored today through Bhimtal and Kaladunghi but getting a ride out of the town is proving to be hard and expensive for many tourists.
